Moving so fast I'm forgetting my purpose
Blur of the traffic is sending me spinning
Getting nowhere
My head and my heart are colliding chaotic
Pace of the world I just wish I could stop it
Try to appear like I've got it together
I'm falling apart
Save me
Somebody take my hand and lead me
Slow me down
Don't let love pass me by
Just show me how
Cause I'm ready to fall
Slow me down
Don't let me live a lie
Before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down
Sometimes I fear that I might disappear
In the blur of fast forward I falter again
Forgetting to breathe
I need to sleep
I'm getting nowhere
All that I've missed I see in the reflection
Pass me while I wasn't paying attention
Tired of rushing, racing and running
I'm falling apart
Tell me
Oh won't you take my hand and lead me
Slow me down
Don't let love pass me by
Just show me how
Cause I'm ready to fall
Slow me down
Don't let me live a lie
Before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down
Just show me
I need you to slow me down
Slow me down
Slow me down
The noise of the world is getting me caught up
Chasing the clock and I wish I could stop it
Just need to breathe
Somebody please
Slow me down

Being the superstitious person, I am sooo excited to start the Year of the Ox because of the promising horoscope this year. My sign, The Dragon has always been lucky. A lot of people are envious of Dragons because if you know about Chinese history, Dragons have always been revered and it's also the sign of the Emperor. Basta I just can't believe the lucky 8 star (for luck and prosperity) is in my sign this year! Anyhow, Chinese New Year was special this year. It's great Gem and the family were there and we had this yummy feast of my favorite Spring Deer Peking Duck, Pancit, Lechon Kawali, Steamed Lapu Lapu and Fish Soup. Chinese New Year is always festive in our house, and has been one of my favorite holidays because of the sumptuous food and the AMPAOS!! I wish they would make our New Year an official holiday :(
Gem and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary last Tuesday. I can’t believe we’ve known each other for 3 years already and have been official for two. I was only 17 when we meet each other and he always tells me he still sees me as a 17 year old girl! Anyway, this day was really really special to us. We had dessert at Cold Rock, early dinner at Myron’s Place (Best place for Wagyu Steak with Foie Gras….mmmmm) and drinks and dessert at Terrace at 5th. (Order the Casa Lapostolle Merlot, I finally found a place that serves this award winning wine!) Thanks Gem for making me feel uber special that night :) And I can't wait for our next frill free date! aysee sisig + corn....

I had dinner with Gem at NYPD last Friday... Sumptious pizza!(Blue Cheese! and also Buffalo Wings!) Hay, I just love frill free dinners and being a recessionista!

I love Bonifacio High Street! It's clean, the guards are really helpful, they have good shops, it's not too crowded... well it's getting kind of already with really big families strolling around the place. Ribs and Calamari at New Orleans was great! Although they had the suckiest service. I expected them to be attentive, impeccable... because they're kind of overpriced. They served the food after 40 minutes of waiting, they got the bill wrong, and they took a long time giving it to us! We even threatened to leave after 2 minutes if they didn't give it to us.. and they were still late! Grabe! Hay nako. Buti nalang I liked my Apple Martini, New Orleans has the best Apple Martini I've ever tasted.
Saturdays are normally stayins and early lunches for us. Gem and I were in the mood for Brother's Burgers and we had this humongous meal of The Bistro Burger (yummmyyyy!!! Brie, Dijon Dressing, Champignon mushrooms, a juicy quater pounder ohhh and the bread!!!), Brother's Burger w/ Cheese and Onion Rings ( i love their onion rings!!!).
Sigh... I wish everyday was like this. School is really a bore. As much as I would love to spend more time with my friends I cannot. Ang daming kailangan gawin.

Downs:
1) Only 6 people in our class passed the notorious first Chemistry Exam. Nope that did not include me. Mam Ramos, did not give us partial points with the reasoning that if the answer was wrong, then the procedure was wrong. Go figure.
2) I am doing the thing I hate most in studying. CRAMMING. A lot of people think that it’s so exciting and the pressure makes them perform better. I don’t. I feel irresponsible for not doing my work during the holidays, which is finish The Iliad and start with The Temptest. Okay, it wasn’t formally given as an assignment, but given that I study in UP, I should’ve done this out of my own will. (Which I didn’t)
3) I have 3 exams lined up for next Friday. Yes all my professors on that day connived that they torture me with three exams. First is about Visual & Hearing Impairments, Eng 12 on The Iliad and The Temptest and Soc Sci 2 on the works of Plato, Machiavelli, Aristotle, St. Thomas of Aquinas and St Augustine. Oh and may I note? I have to name the author and the work for a specific quote from the texts.
1) Only one more day of school! Life begins at 2:30 pm on Fridays.
2) Dinner with my favorites Char and Gian at New Orleans, Serendra. Ribs Ribs Ribs!
3) Wearing my Aldo pumps and Mango skirt! (haha! Okay babaw)
4) Mum bought me my Bright Yellow nail polish from TFS.
I guess there is still hope, mas madami pading ups than the downs.

2008 was indeed a very good year. I was completely blown away with all the important life make/break decisions, the spectacular events, the many great nights and all the amazing firsts I've had. I just hope 2009 will be the same, if not better.

This year, instead of making a New Year’s Resolutions List, I decided to make a 2008 To-Do List simply because it seemed much more feasible, straight to the point and objective. I can’t believe I crossed out everything especially since most require financial powers and big leaps of faith. But no doubt I actually did all! I’m so proud of myself!
Buy a Sony T20 (I actually bought a T70)
Go to Boracay during the summer
Be College Scholar
Be Pubevent Team Head (and I took an even bigger leap as Adhoc Chair)
Be a Junior Jock for the summer (I passed the screening! But the actual stint will be this summer. It’s for the Boys’ Night Out which they call Summer Bunnies. I’m still thinking if I’m pushing with it since it’s late at night)
Buy a new IPOD
Visit Lolo Gon
Holidays this year seem much happier, despite bittersweet moments..that ended well anyway :D Mom and Dad are quite happy with how the family business is going well… the life of an entrepreneur can be so stressful! Minsan meron, minsan wala, that’s why I don’t think I’ll get into business.. masyadong maraming emotional attachments. Another reason for a happier Christmas is that finally my parents are allowing my sisters to drink! Hahaha. Baduy! But other than that the family is so much closer now. Noche Buena was superb with mum’s beef rolls (strips of tenderloin wrapped with cheese then baked) and my favorite ham!!! Holidays like these are best enjoyed with family and your loved ones, so it’s great that this Christmas we’re finally complete! I can’t wait for the New Year!Bries Sisters. 12.25.08Girls Day Out! Lunch at family favorite Abe
SNOW WORLD!!!!
We treated our siblings to lunch at Mexicali and coffee & dessert att Trinoma :)
Treated Gem to breakfast at Portico! Yummy!
Christmas Dinner at El Cirkulo! Yummy paella and slow roasted beef belly! :D Thanks hun ;p
Our 3rd Christmas together!
Visited Lolo Gon this year! Finally!

You know its Christmas when you have this ridiculous number of parties to go to, supermarkets and malls are jam packed with lots of people and it takes you hours to get to anywhere! I can’t believe that Christmas is just 5 days away, this holiday seems much more busy and stressful! It’s great though that I already finished buying/wrapping gifts, ingredients for potluck contributions and planning my holiday agenda. People are scrambling all over, buying this buying that.. it just puzzles me that they never seem to learn throughout the years to shop ahead and avoid the maddening crowds.
Segue to that, it’s soooo nice to hole up yourself and just rediscover the reasons while you’re still together. The best thing about this trip is that we got to know each other all over again, and realized how important and urgent US is. So thanks ;-) Je Suis Gourmand is the best even if you didn’t like the others! I had no idea walking around Jupiter at 3 am (in shorts while the weather was freezing cold!) would be so much fun!
These two bitches, Pam and Julie are the best people on earth! Bonded over some Japanese food at Teriyaki Boy and Starbucks at Eastwood, which was definitely an awesome bonding fiesta! It’s great that even if Pam and Jules are single, they are wise beyond any girl that has been in a relationship. After all these years, despite the drama, after Pam’s boys (joookkkkeee!), Julie’s guru tips and my super corny jokes na walang climax.. they still show up to lunch after a crazy Fiamma night the day before :-)
Hay ang dami ko pang kailangan matapos sa Christmas List ko:
Buy Gem’s present
Dec 26 Plans
Finish Twinkies (a book about the manufacturing of processed food.. makes you want to puke that hotdog)
Watch Fireworks (Trinoma is so close to our house... every dinner, we can actually watch the fireworks from our house!)
Go to EK to watch fireworks
Go to Snow World! (so I get to wear Winter Chic!!! Blair during the Thanksgiving episode)
Watch Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother

-Hay. Indeed, everything is great the second time around. Fresh start, clean slate... it's true when they say that falling in love is better the second time around. If you are just patient, persistent and stubborn about the fact that you two are meant for each other.. then it'll come. High risk, high return.
-I'm so not in writing mode. I'm just blabbing random proses, but who cares.. this is how soupy I get after a semester of Chemistry.
-Accompanied Gem in his trade visits :)) I didn't know the food business was this fascinating! Went to Wheatberry, Kozui (veggie spring rolls!!!), Kitchen of Cakes and Coffee,Pastry Passion and then had dinner at Big Better Burgers! I love the fact that I had a sneak peak of what he does at work..just another chance to be closer :) And yeah..the food was a big factor also.
Also, I have to post my list of yearly makeup investments. Thank you Gem for the gc in Make Up For Ever! Thank you agency! Madami din palang perks maging marketeer!

Or feel your touch that I adore
I don't know your face no more
It's just a place I'm looking for
We might as well be strangers in another town
We might as well
We might as well
We might as well
I don't know your thoughts these days
We're strangers in an empty space
I don't understand your heart
It's easier to be apart
We might as well be strangers in another town
We might as well be living in a another time
We might as well
We might as well
We might as well be strangers
Be strangers
For all I know of you now

Anyway, Eastwood Cinema 3 (where we watched) was the NOISIEST theater I've ever been too! Throngs of teenyboppers with their barkadas and boylets (what we used to call them guys before) kept swooning, making gushy noises and kilig screams everytime Edward and Bella were about to kiss/dance. Sige na nga pagbigyan. But we felt so old there, we were being so nega about the noise now, but I remember being more tolerant when I was younger. But despite the noisy barkadas (oh yeah I forgot to mention they were watching in groups of 8-10) I still loved the movie! I want to watch it again... maybe with a friend or something. Basta I'm so glad hindi nanaman ako tinamad manuod or else I never had the chance to watch it..
After the movie, Gem and I ate at Teriyaki Boy. Crunchy Tuna Gunkan, Tamago Sushi and Tempura were divine! And yeah more groups of teenyboppers there. I ended up shopping at the bazaar. Sabi ko lang kay Gem "Gem! I'll just look around I promise!", Gem: "Hay nako, I'm sure may bibilin ka, it's a bazaar.Lalo na when you see a Twenty Php Everything, it always works on you!" Denise: :"No I promise talaga look around lang!" After 3 seconds"Wow cute bag! How much?"
Gem just laughs.. as always. :)

Although I am enjoying my other subjects. Awhile ago I was reading Plato's The Republic and The Illiad by Homer (take note: in poetry form), and I think it makes me realize that, I should've just majored in English since I prefer reading over those ox-dox calculations...

Meron akong withdrawal syndrome, in particular, in missing people. When I miss people very much, I get mad at them. For the most stupid reasons and I know it’s silly but that’s just the way it is. Feeling ko kasi, that way, I feel I’m not getting to clingy and mas mamimiss ko less yung person. It’s easier that way. It’s kind of like quitting smoking. The more you want it, the more you have to avoid it. Ewan ko lang, pero that’s the way it is. And besides, it’s better to preoccupy yourself with other things, para di ka maloka. I avoid talking/texting with them. It makes me miss them even more.
My Soc Sci II ( Economic and Philosophical Thought) is the class I like the most so far. Hahaha. If you’re competing with Chemistry and Stat classes, that’s an easy win. But I like my professor in this subject. Not only does he present things in such an interesting and non highfaluting manner, but cracks THE BEST JOKES. Anyway, we were discussing the fine line between the rational and the standards of what is crazy. I just think the boundaries are artificial. Prof. Fernando says that the only difference between the sane and the crazy is their grasp of the absolute idea of reality. But what is the true idea of reality? He made an example of a teacher saying that the pen is black, while his student is insisting that the pen is midnight blue. After millions of times convincing the student, putting a straight jacket on him, beating him up..he finally agrees that the pen is black. Interesting don’t you think? I never looked at that angle, that people treated insane people that way.
I always thought I was borderline crazy because I think of the most ridiculous things EVER!!! Like when I pray, I always think that I’m hugging Jesus..kind of like a friend hug. Hahaha! It’s weird I know. But who set the standards of weirdness anyway??
I’m going back to reading Josephine Bonaparte’s biographies. Sometimes I imagine I’m back in the medieval/renaissance times so I can sashay around with my pretty taffeta gown and hat. See I have such a vivid imagination. Oh yeah.. if you want to make it up to me, how about a slice of chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake?

I just loooveee dining out. I had Friuli Tuna and Mushroom Pasta, Three Cheese Pizza (heavenly!) and Iced Coffee. I super love Friuli! And nakakatawa because they have this guy who does everything! Wait on the tables, mix the latte..and cook the food I guess.hahaha! I love dinners like these in the middle of the week. It keeps the rest of the weekdays bearable. Also had lunch with my parents and brother at Cyma. Chicken Souvlaki and Ceaser Salad is DIVINE. I love Cyma! :D My parents have a knack for eating at the best places! And the most special part of that day..getting my coveted, beloved flat boots! The ones at Janylin are less expensive than the ones in Promod, but they are much prettier! They're camel, slouchy, flat and GORGEEEYYY :D
Hay. I love days like these when things are going extremely well. Must not jinx it and spoil the moments :D Back to Chem studying. Hayyy...I hate memorizing.. oh wait.. I LOVE MEMORIZING :))
